Climbed the towers and installed the antennas by hand, along with the LMR feed line, cabling and supporting infrastructure, at Nassau County and on wireless work across Florida.
Mounting and alignment, feed line runs and connectorisation, grounding and bonding, weatherproofing, and the rest of the physical requirements that decide whether a site still works in year five rather than only in week one.
Designing the RF and then building it with your own hands teaches which parts of a drawing survive contact with a tower and which do not. I have never since designed a wireless site without thinking about who has to install it.
