Propagation, coverage and multipath analysis across land mobile radio, fixed wireless and point-to-point links, modelled in EDX Wireless (SignalPro) and validated by field testing.
Coverage is not a map exercise. Reflections off buildings, terrain and water put nulls exactly where a responder does not expect one, and the failure mode is a firefighter inside a structure whose radio does not reach anybody.
Also ran the preliminary RF engineering on the Cisco-partnered mesh pilot personally — antenna gain, mount height, omnidirectional pattern and a two-mile service radius, modelled on received power at the best base from the remote with noise and predicted interference included rather than a clean-sheet coverage circle.
Applied in
- First Coast Radio SystemRegional shared public safety radio across three system generations — original, retrofit, and full P25 replacement.
- Downtown Campus Distributed Antenna SystemA neutral-host DAS carrying four commercial carriers, public safety radio and Wi-Fi — owned across two full platform generations.
- Digital Divide Broadband PilotsHome internet for the lowest-income neighbourhoods of Jacksonville, sited by demographic need rather than engineering convenience.
- Statewide Florida Wireless InstallationsTower, antenna and LMR feed line work across the state, alongside the RF design.
- Nassau County Sheriff's Office Countywide WirelessMulti-tower public safety wireless across a large rural county, surveyed by driving it and plotting the readings by hand.
