Neutral-host in-building DAS carrying four commercial carriers, public safety radio and Wi-Fi on one shared plant — across two full platform generations.

Architected the Duval County Courthouse DAS as a neutral-host, multi-service in-building network, and ran the vendor and carrier evaluation behind it: nine distinct RF systems on one fibre-fed antenna infrastructure, carrying AT&T, Verizon, T-Mobile and Sprint across cellular, PCS, AWS and 700 MHz LTE bands, alongside public safety 700 MHz and 800 MHz land mobile radio and building-wide Wi-Fi — roughly 130 serving antennas over seven floors, specified to per-band signal thresholds across 95% of the facility.

Each carrier supplied its own donor and base station equipment, so the work included negotiating four independent commercial parties and a public safety agency onto a single shared plant. Selecting for all of that at once is a different exercise from selecting for any one service, and public safety in-building coverage is the requirement that cannot be traded away to make the others fit.

Then owned it across its full lifecycle and led the refresh that replaced it: a JMA Wireless platform designed in iBwave extending coverage from one building to a three-building downtown campus off a single head end, moving the carrier estate to all-LTE, adding AWS, 2.3 GHz WCS and 2.6 GHz spectrum, sectorised into three sectors for capacity rather than coverage alone, and carrying public safety 800 MHz forward as digital P25.

Living with an in-building system for years and then specifying what should replace it teaches things about DAS design that a first install does not.
