Physical Path Diversity

Proving that two paths are actually separate — by routing them over infrastructure you own rather than trusting a carrier's map.

Also known as Route Diversity, Diverse Paths

Built physical path diversity into the Florida LambdaRail consortium connection using infrastructure the city already owned: separate primary and backup fibre routes running over different bridge crossings on opposite structures, into a carrier facility, with an out-of-region backup path to Atlanta.

Diversity that exists only on a carrier’s paper map tends to converge in a single conduit somewhere. Routing over assets we controlled meant the paths could be proven separate rather than asserted separate.
