Chief system designer of the StorComm PACS platform for hospitals, with DICOM system architecture and design beneath it — the standard by which medical imaging devices, archives and viewing stations interoperate — and the data center and warehouse design underneath the processing estate.
System architect for the health information management systems, built against the confidentiality, integrity and access requirements the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act had set out and its rules would later codify. Ahead of the regulation rather than behind it: the Act passed in 1996 and the rules that put teeth in it arrived years afterward, so a system designed to those requirements in 1997 was answering a standard that was not yet enforceable.
The same platform carried diagnostic imaging out to radiologists reading from home, under Food and Drug Administration clearance.
WORM optical archival addressed the immutability, retention and integrity requirements governing regulated medical records — architecture decisions rather than storage settings.
