Certified in May 1995. Within a year this was being applied to the CSX RPI project — digitising railroad property maps dating to the 1800s, including MDL application development against the MicroStation platform.
That project was the first time the work was about getting physical infrastructure into a data model rather than onto a drawing, which is a distinction that has shaped everything since.
