FAA Part 107 Remote Pilot

Commercial remote pilot certificate for small unmanned aircraft under 14 CFR Part 107. Issued September 2020; recurrent training completed September 2026.

The certificate that makes commercial aerial work lawful: airspace authorization, waivers, and final authority as Remote Pilot in Command over whether a flight is conducted at all.

It underpins the infrastructure inspection and survey work at Young Tech Systems, including the West Virginia water treatment survey and the custom LIDAR and Raspberry Pi sensor payloads built for it.

Issued September 16, 2020. Recurrent training — the FAA Safety Team course ALC-677, Part 107 Small UAS Recurrent — completed September 7, 2026, so recency runs through September 2028.

Both dates are given because they answer different questions. A Part 107 certificate does not expire; what governs whether the holder may lawfully act as Remote Pilot in Command is the recency requirement, satisfied by recurrent training within the preceding 24 calendar months. A record that says “active” without saying which of the two it means is not saying much, and for commercial work it is the second one that decides whether a flight may be flown at all.
